As most of you out there are launching startups and marketing new products, learning how to make a product demo video is quite important.
Step 1: Plan the Demo Video
Before you start recording, you need to plan your video.
Describe What Your Product Does: This involves what you have to say and which features you need to describe. So, start off by describing what your product does.
Provide a Solution: Secondly, provide a solution as we mentioned earlier, DemoCreator enables you to record, edit, and share on the same platform; that's the solution.
Show How the Product Works: Thirdly, show how the product works. We will take you through the steps of making a product demo video shortly.
Add a Compelling Call to Action: Lastly, add a compelling call to action so that the audience will rush to try out your product.
Step 2: Record Your Product or Service in Action
Now that you've planned everything you need to do in the video, it's time to record it. As I mentioned earlier, we'll be using Wondershare DemoCreator to record the demo video. You can record it using the desktop software or DemoAir; the online recorder can get the job done.
How to Record the Screen Only
If you're using the desktop version of DemoCreator, here's what to do. Launch DemoCreator and click on the “All-in-one Recorder.” You can choose to record only the screen. You can turn off the webcam and microphone and click on the “Zone Capture” option to select full screen or customized screen.
How to Record Only Audio
If you want to record your voice without showing your face or recording the screen, turn off the “WebCam” and tick the “Don't record screen” option in “Zone Capture.” Turn on the “Microphone” and “System Audio” options.
How to Record Audio, Webcam, and Screen
If you want to record your screen, webcam, and audio all at the same time, select all the options given on the screen to record everything simultaneously. Once you've selected the desired options, click the red “Record” button to start recording your product demo video.
Launch your product and start telling the audience about its various features, showing them where they are located and how they work as you record.
Online Recorder - DemoAir
If you're not using the desktop version of DemoCreator, you can also use DemoAir for online recording. Open DemoCreator and click on “Cloud Services” from the menu on the left. It will redirect you to DemoAir's website.
As you can see, there are four options on the screen: Webcam Recording, PowerPoint Presentation, Quick Online Recording, and Game Recording. We will click on “Quick Online Record.”
This will open another window that will give you recording mode options. You can choose from recording the Screen Only, Webcam Only Screen, Webcam and Audio Only.
Click on “Start Recording,” and you will get three options to choose what to share: the tab, the window, or the entire screen.
As you select any of the available options, DemoAir starts recording your screen. Click on “Stop Sharing” to end your demo video. Once you're done recording, you'll be able to preview your video on the screen. Plus, you will also get the option of saving the video to the “Cloud,” downloading it to your PC, or sharing it directly on various platforms using a link.
Here, we'd like to mention that Wondershare drive has one gigabyte of storage space for every user. So you can record and upload your videos to the cloud easily.
Step 3: Edit Your Video
Now that you have finally recorded your video using DemoCreator or DemoAir, it's time to polish it up. For this, we'll use the built-in video editor in the DemoCreator. Launch DemoCreator and click “Video Editor.” As we're making a product demo video, we'll need cursor effects, annotations, and captions to explain the various steps in the demo so the audience can understand them clearly.
How to Add Annotations to Video
Annotations are used to point to a specific part of the video. Click on “Annotations” from the options at the top. You can see several different types of annotations, like text lines, arrows, and shapes. I'll add text to my video to tell the audience what the demo video is about. Drag and drop one on the timeline and double-click on it to type your desired words.
How to Add Captions to Video
Click on “Captions” from the menu on top and choose “Opener” from the menu on the left. Drag and drop it to the timeline, and double-click the text box to edit it.
